My STATS !
Dear Classmates,
Today we are talking about statistiques. For some websites, there are very easy ways to find them, for example for Twitter, Blogger and LinkedIn. For the Facebook account, I find it is much more difficult to find… because in fact I did not find them at all !
Concerning my Twitter account, I follow 39 person but only 16 are following me. I realize that I have been making Tweets only in the beginning of the week. I was not used to use Twitter before this class so I think it is the main reason : I only use Twitter for this class and not for a personnal use. Here are some of the stats of my Twitter account : I find the LinkedIn stats more interesting than the Twitter’s. In fact, LinkedIn allows you to notice what kind of people look at your profile, their jobs, residence place… I have for the time 22 contacts in LinkedIn, especially classmates and former students of my home school, but I would like to improve this number because I really want to use this social medium with a professionnal way I notice with my stats that most of my contact are working in the same field as me, because we are coming from the same kind of studies. The majority of my contacts are living in Paris.
For my blog, it is funny to notice that most of the webpages seen are seen in the beginning of the week, and for sure it is for the same main reason than the Twitter profile. I only use Blogger for this class, but I know I should have done a blog for my stayed in France friends and family. Here are my stats for my Blog.
As a conclusion, I can say that I has been funny and very interested to look at my stats for these differents websites, I make me realize that I use most of them for the « Social Media Class » only, whereas I should use them more often.
Before choosing this class, I only had a Facebook account, so if someone knows how to get our stats on Facebook, I will thank him !
See you tonight dear classmates !

Measuring Online Return On Investment
Hi everybody !
Today we have to talk about a not so easy topic, which is the measure of Return On Investment. What is it important? Measuring Returns On Investment allows companies to figure out if their efforts in Social Media are worth it and if they can improve their benefits thanks to online media.
So how can we measure online returns of investment?
Let’s take the example of a French TV station for which I worked few months ago. As all the TV Stations in the world (I guess), TF1 has its own Facebook and Twitter accounts. It posts every day news, updates of the station organization, programs changes... As of today, about 456 000 people like the TF1 Facebook page and there are 85 000 followers in Twitter.

Nevertheless these figures do not mean that those 456 000 people are actually watching TF1. So just considering the number of “Likers” and “Followers” is not the more valuable criteria for Return On Investment. Instead, we must consider the activity of these people in the social media for this TV station.

We can recognize active people by regarding how many “Retweet” they are making on Twitter and if they post topics and messages on forums and discussions. I believe that it is more valuable than just considering the “passive” likers and followers.
I wish you a wonderful day and see you tonight.

Kidioui.fr pays back your parking tickets !
While I was in search of information about use or misuse of social media, I discovered a discussion in the forum of the French newspaper « Le Figaro » and I think it could be interesting to share it. It is about the French website Kidioui.fr which is paying your parking tickets if you subscribe online.
The idea is simple: anyone who wants to be reimbursed must register on Kidioui’s social network, explain the context in which the fine was imposed, and get as many votes as there are euros to pay. Each of the site’s 2,000 users can vote only once for each candidate, to limit the cost to the company. In order not to encourage crime, the offer only concerns parking tickets.
To date, the site has reimbursed 500 euros worth of parking tickets and there are still 3,000 euros in fines waiting for votes, but the site states that its budget is unlimited, because the cost of the campaign will be proportional to its impact on public opinion. Opportunely launched after an increase in parking ticket prices from 11 to 17 euros, this communication campaign is already bearing fruit. In five days, they recorded over 20,000 visitors to their offer.

Follow me !
To build our brand, we now have to use social media,
because it is the place where everyone can see you.
I would like to use them in a successful way.
So I decided first to join two organizations which allow
me to stay in touch with the global actuality but also the French:
Le Monde,
which is a French newspaper relating about news
in the whole world, and
20 Minutes buzz
also for the French news.
In addition, I think that marketing ourselves goes through having
a constructive network in the web.
What I mean is that if you stay in touch with all the people you have
ever worked with; it allows you to share your experience and to
build your brand. That is why I follow
Telecom SudParis,
which is my engineering school and
TF1,
the first TV station in which I did my internship for the past
seven months.
I finally decided to follow the
Glee
Twitter, only for the entertainment, because I really
love this new kind of soap opera.
